Glass Manifestation (dots on glass)

UK Building regulations part M dictate that glass screens and entrance doors which are full height in nature will need to be made obvious to somebody when in proximity to the glass to avoid collision or prevent injury.

Currently Building Regulations state this below

a) They are clearly defined with glass manifestation on the glass at two levels; between 850mm and 1000mm and between 1400mm and 1600mm above the floor, contrasting visually with the background seen through the glass (both inside and out) in all lighting conditions.

b) Manifestation takes the form of logo or sign at least 150mm high (repeated if on a glazed screen), or a decorative feature such as broken lines or continuous bands, at least 50mm high.

Design of Manifestation

There are many different designs available but the two most generic manifestation bands are either

• Square dots
• Round Dots

Companies with branding have used their Logos or part of it, in some cases the entirety of the glass has been covered with vinyl.
